NATIONAL LOCKDOWN UPDATE

We have decided to cancel our previews on December 4th - 10th due to the government's four-week lockdown in November. If you have already purchased a ticket, we will be in touch to reschedule or refund your preview ticket.

Do you offer refunds?

All tickets are non-refundable however we will follow government guidelines. If the guidelines result in a cancellation or delay of the experience, we will offer ticket holders the option to reschedule their tickets or receive a full refund.  

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

How do I get to the show?

Forest Fables at Mottistone Manor will take place at:

Mottistone Gardens, Mottistone, Newport, Isle of Wight PO30 4ED

Located between Brighstone and Brook on B3399

Please note, this is an indoor performance and will take place inside the Manor House.

 

Is there a place to park? 

There is free parking at the National Trust Car Park adjacent to Mottistone Manor, 50 yards down the road.

 

Can I get there by bus?

Mottistone is on Southern Vectis Route 12 which runs from Newport to Alum Bay. More information can be found at www.islandbuses.info. Bus stops are located in front of the manor and at the vehicle entry point of the car park.

 

How can I get there by ferry?

Lymington to Yarmouth 5 miles (Wightlink, 0871 376 1000) 

Southampton to West Cowes 13 miles (Redjet, 0844 844 9988)

Southampton to East Cowes 16 miles (Redfunnel, 0844 844 9988)

Portsmouth to Ryde 16 miles (Hovertravel, 01983 717700) or (Wightlink, 0871 376 1000) 

 

What do I need to know for my arrival on-site?

It is crucial that you are not late for your scheduled ticketing time, we are making sure that no bubbles meet during the experience, there is an indoor area to wait in.  On your arrival, our National Trust Volunteer will take your temperature.  If anyone in your bubble has a temperature above 37.5ºC, we will have to reschedule your visit.  Audience members ages 11+ will be required to wear a mask unless medically exempt.

 

Please arrive promptly at the Manor Mottistone. Your time-slot is for your bubble only. Latecomers will not be admitted.

 

How long will the show last?

The total run time is approximately 1hr from your arrival. 

 

Can I stay in the garden after the show has ended?

During daylight hours you can wander through the gardens after the show, please adhere to social distancing rules.

THE SHOW

What is Forest Fables at Mottistone Manor?

Forest Fables at Mottistone Manor is a promenade, site-specific performance for bubbled families to enjoy.

Please note, this is an indoor performance and will take place inside the Manor House.

Forest Fables is a show imbued with wonder and magic to ignite the imaginations of children.   As each bubble moves through the journey, they will learn how to become a custodian of the natural world. 

There will always be a performer or volunteer with your bubble following a clear one-way system through the manor. The performers will be interacting with you along your journey; however, we will be maintaining social-distancing, and one of our team will explain the rules of engagement before you begin your journey.  Please always follow the directions of the volunteer or performer with you. 

 

Will there be seating?

Don’t forget, this is not a seated experience and includes 1 flight of stairs up and down. If you or someone in your bubble has mobility issues, please contact us no later than two working days ahead of your visit to Mottistone Gardens. See details regarding accessibility under ‘Accessibility’. 

TICKETS

How do I retrieve my ticket?

Greengage Ventures will issue your tickets, and you will find your ticket code(s) in the body of the confirmation email.  You do not need to print your tickets. If you wish to purchase a ticket, please follow the link on our homepage.

We cannot accommodate tickets purchased on the door, so please make sure to book before your arrival. Tickets are open up to 24hrs before the scheduled time.

How does my bubble ticket work? 

In line with current government guidelines, you can purchase a bubble of up to six attendees to see ‘Forest Fables at Mottistone Manor’. You are free to use up as many spaces as you would like within your bubble. In line with the rule of six, we can only allow bubbles of 6 individuals, including adults, small children and infants.  Please be advised we have ticketed as bubbles and will be following government guidelines closely. The cost of a bubble is £65 on Weekends and £50 during previews and weekdays.

ACCESSIBILITY

Someone in my bubble has additional needs. What are my options?

This experience does include stairs; if someone in your bubble does have mobility issues, please do contact us at hello@forestfables.co.uk no later than two working days ahead of your trip.  The ground floor of the manor is wheelchair accessible, so we will create a unique journey for you.  If this is not possible, we will be documenting the experience and will make the digital experience available to you.  All performers will be wearing visors to allow for lip-reading.  We are passionate about accessibility and look forward to working with you to create a unique and wonderful experience. 

 

We welcome service dogs. If you are planning on attending with a service dog, please contact hello@forestfables.co.uk giving at least two working days' notice. Our team will be able to assist you on your journey as well as help with any medical emergencies.

TIPS, TRICKS & HANDY INFORMATION

Can I use my cameras, phones, or recording device?

There are lots of opportunities to take photos on arrival. After a certain point, you will be asked to put your camera down to enhance the experience and focus on the sights around you. We'd love you to keep the secrets of Forest Fables to yourself, so we don't spoil the surprise for future guests.

We do allow photography at the end of the event, for personal use only. For any other use, please contact us in advance at hello@forestfables.co.uk.

 

Will there be a cloakroom?

There will be space to leave coats and an area for pushchairs, in the check-in area on your arrival, please note that this is unattended so will be left at the owner’s risk.  If possible we advise leaving bags in the car, don't let anything weigh you down!

 

Will there be food and drink available?

There will be light refreshments, during the times listed below for after the experience, please note that food or drink is not allowed inside the manor.  Only bank cards, contactless as well as chip and pin, are accepted.

 

Dec 5 - 6: 10.00 - 17.00

What about the weather? 

We are open rain or shine. You will have to wait when you arrive for 10minutes under a covered area outside. After that, the experience will be inside the manor. You will be allowed to wander through Mottistone Manor gardens after the show. 

 

Will the bathrooms be open for use? 

The National Trust toilets will be open on your arrival; they are located on the right of the main entrance, we advise going to the bathroom before the experience.  Please adhere to social distancing rules when using the toilets. 

 

Can I bring my pet?

We love creatures great and small, but for this experience, only service dogs will be allowed to enter the manor. If you are planning on attending with a service dog, please contact hello@forestfables.co.uk giving at least two working days' notice. Our team will be able to assist you on your journey as well as help with any medical emergencies.

COVID-19

What precautions are you taking?

This show has been created and adapted in line with the government guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst this is an interactive show, we will be maintaining social distancing, and one of our team will explain the rules of engagement before you begin your journey.

 

If you or someone in your bubble feels unwell or if you have been in contact with anyone who has been ill in the 14 days before your allocated showtime, please do not come to Mottistone Manor.  Please contact our team to reschedule your booking.  For refunds see our refund policy under ‘Tickets’.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Audience members ages 11+ will be required to wear a mask unless medically exempt. All performers will be wearing visors, so that children and adults who are hard of hearing can lip read and volunteers will be wearing either a visor or a mask. This is to keep you and our performers safe.

 

Will I have my temperature checked?

Upon your arrival at Mottistone Manor, we will be taking contact-free temperature checks. If you or any of your bubble’s temperature exceeds 37.5ªC, we will need to reschedule your tickets. 

 

Will you be Tracking and Tracing?

You will be asked to sign in using the NHS track and trace app.

 

What are your Covid-19 procedures for performers and crew?

All team members will take daily temperature checks. All performers and crew who are not island residents will have taken a COVID test before bubbling together on the Island. Regular handwashing and good practice social distancing will be employed by all performers.

 

How will interactions with performers work?

This is an immersive show, but there can be no physical interactions between individuals and the performers or volunteers, sadly no high fives or pats on the shoulders.  We will be maintaining social distancing, and one of our team will explain the rules of engagement before you begin your journey.

 

If you feel unwell or have any other difficulties while at the manor, please let a volunteer or performer know and we will assist you. 

 

What is your cleaning plan?

We have a thorough cleaning plan, cleaning in the morning in the middle of the day and a deep clean the manor each evening in line with the National Trust internal practices and government regulations.
